I’ve forgotten an important thing when discussing the “Why China?” question: in China Christmas is mainly ignored!

Last year all the Christmas waste around got me a bit angry and aggressive. I couldn’t get over the fact that trees are being cut for the fun of having a decorated tree inside the house, people are spending sooo much money buying useless things, everyone is stressed out with finding the best presents that most of the times their friends won’t like or need anyway, too much food, too many left-overs, too many pigs slaughtered.

Even if I’m not a religious person, I would respect a religious festival when it actually is about belief. But Christmas has transformed into the worshiping of the corporations (or of any retail selling points). It’s very good to be in China during Christmas because here very few people celebrate Christmas. It actually feels good!
